Under the Canopy was conceived by Matt Bassett and Tia Shearer-Bassett for local theater company Arts on the Horizon as a rainforest world for babies and young toddlers to explore. Using color, sound and texture, we created a set and puppets to support this vision and bring the environment to life for very young audiences. Under the Canopy premiered at the Athenaeum in Old Town, Alexandria in February 2014 and was also presented as part of the 2014 Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival in Washington DC.
